Terrible ugly annoying pre-order delays (and why we blame Labubu)

To everyone waiting for a pre-order, we owe you an explanation.

When we first made pre-orders available we expected to send them out around August 1st. Clearly we haven't met that target, and now the delays are looking worse. Here's what's happening...

We make our unique Privacy Plushies with a wonderful company in China that specializes in plush manufacturing. In July they were wrapping up our latest restocking order. They were scheduled to ship to our American warehouse, with an expected arrival at the end of the month. That's when we opened up pre-orders.

But sometimes the universe sucks 😩

We found out through our manufacturer that the freight company's shipments are all being held up by Chinese customs. And today that's still where we sit, waiting for Chinese customs to release the shipment.

This is an opaque process. We don't know when exactly Chinese customs will be done inspecting everything. We did manage to get an estimate from the freight company, who told us it could take another half a month to a month.

We cannot tell you how much we hate this, and how much we sympathize with everyone who has paid us for an order and is stuck waiting with us.

If you're curious about this horrible crazy delay, here's the tea ☕ according to our Chinese manufacturer. China is increasing outgoing customs inspections because of all the fake Labubus being sold. Labubu is owned by the Chinese company Pop Mart. Suddenly a country that hasn't prioritized enforcing intellectual property seems very invested in shutting down this knock-off market. Alllso it was implied to us that this freight company had to return a shipment of Fake-bubu's to the manufacturer recently, so they in particular are being searched. And our innocent plushies are stuck in one of their freights 😢

And so we wait. Thank you SO much to everyone for your patience. Rest assured, everyone who has a pre-order WILL get their discreet delivery in their chosen Privacy Plushie. If you decide the wait is not worth it, you can email us to cancel and refund your order. We totally get it. Otherwise, your support truly means the world to our small business.
